The method, developed in the working group Prof. Mayer, determines the median radius of nanoparticles by using a CCD camera with a capture card to record and store the images. Subsequently image-processing followed by data-analysis (Excel-macro) provides the arithmetic average of the squared individual drift. Therfore the histogram-data of measured particel radii is fitted by a gaussian equation and the mean radius is retrieved from half width.
